Good friends are Blessings and Bring us Closer to Allah

Friendship brings happiness to our lives.

Good friends bring joy and relieve stress, preventing us from loneliness and isolation.

My friends are my family; my parents and my siblings who are the light of my eyes and heart!

My mother is the kindest, she even cries for a stranger's pain.

When I am sick, she makes me soup with soothing drinks.

She is the herbal sage of the family who has a remedy for every pain.

She is the most optimistic, constantly giving hope in moments of hopelessness.

My father is the handyman of our house! If something is not working properly; he will have it fixed by the next day. He is a wise man who touches your soul with his life experience and stories.

My siblings, my three brothers and two sisters, are my friends. They are always available for me whenever I need them. They are my crime partners, secret keepers, and my role models.

My friends are my nieces and nephews who are the joy of my life! They are my children, but I feel as if they are. Time flies by more quickly with the laughs and joy shared when I am with them.

My friends are in my thoughts and heart despite being physically far from me and not having news from them.

My childhood school friends in Iran were Farahnaz, Mahnaz, Fatemeh & Parisa! In Afghanistan, Shazia and Friba.

My college friends in the US are Shraddha, Andrea, Jessica, Kiki & Neera.

We all shared the joys and sorrows of life together; cried for each other's pain, laughed for our happiness, and supported each other whenever needed. That’s why their names are dear to me, and I love them despite being apart.

My friends are my good colleagues who are always supportive & available for help!

My friends are Joan, Barbara, Elizabeth, and Bob! I was alone when I came to the US, but they hosted me at their place, took care of me when I was sick, provided transportation, helped me do well at school, and supported me financially and emotionally. They were strangers but became part of my family.

My friends are my teachers, my books & writings! My teachers and professors inspired me to see the world from a different perspective. They have pushed me to grow academically and professionally.

My friend is also my homeland and country, Afghanistan. My friend is the US, the land of opportunity and freedom!

My friend is my warm bed, my soft pillow, and the roof over my head!

Finally, my best friend is Allah. He is Al-Walee, the companion, who has always been by my side, and who has provided me all these blessings!

Because of these blessings, I laugh harder, cry less, and smile more often!

I pray Allah brings all our family members and friends closer and protects them from evil eye.

Resin Art of an Evil Eye by Rahela Rezaie.

My art represents an evil eye, Cheshm or Nazar in Persian. This is an apotropaic object used against the evil eye. I have used this concept to protect my relationship with family, friends, and my GOD from evil eyes because I love them dearly.
