Tasleem Firdausee

Tasleem "Jamila" Firdausee' is a multidisciplinary artist, educator, and holistic health consultant who uses heart-centered poetic storytelling to examine the intersections of culture, spirituality, and indigenous holistic healing modalities. Tasleem is the founder of My Soul Speaks Institute, Firdausee Consulting, and Art As Sacred initiative (www.artassacred.com). She has dedicated her life to teaching people traveling across the US, Africa, Europe, and Canada leading national and international healing retreats, facilitating cultural competency workshops, lectures, and performances at universities, K-12 schools, festivals, and cafes. Her latest book, Black Baptist Muslim Mystic, has received excellent reviews and is used in classrooms across the US. In addition, she recently released a new album, Activated in 2021, which is her second studio album.  Tasleem is currently a Ph.D. student and has a Master of Arts in Spirituality, Culture & Health and a graduate certification in Holistic Approaches to Mindfulness from Western Michigan University. Her research focused on highlighting the multiple world religious and spiritual traditions to work and assist diverse communities. She also holds certifications as a yoga teacher, certified energy therapist, and certificate in holistic health nutrition and obtained a bachelor's degree in Complementary and Alternative Health.
